PR is such a huge thing, right now. This is what social media has done to modern businesses. You can be fired for doing the right thing because the perception of the situation has been curated in just the right way to make you look bad.
I forget who said it...social media is probably the worst thing to happen to man-kind. That's up there with the Black Plague that wiped out 1/3 of Europe (with some estimates stating that the world lost almost 1/4 of it's human population).
