To add sanity to the transgender debate, pretend an alien species comes across the ruins of our species. They find that some humans have mutilated themselves to resemble the opposite sex and even emulate their behaviors and appearances(secondary sex characteristics). Without proper context, it would seem that the females of our species are highly viewed so much so that the males wished to turned into female simulacrums. To a lesser extent, some of the females wished to be made into male simulacrums.
This would confound and confuse the alien species, for sure. But it would be within biological behavior seen among binary sex species across the universe. We can see these same things happening in multiple species across the planet earth. So this wouldn't be entirely new behavior to this alien species.
I say all that to say this in this thought experiment: if they could gain an understanding of our language and saw cases like Maya's, they'd wonder why humans are so batshit insane. Someone reported that post and twitter contacted her and ended up letting her know they found no violations. Ha, some snowflake got triggered and tried to get her banned and failed.

What if her children were the products of cheating and the husband found out and he was going to divorce her? A mother committing murder suicide has happened in these situations, before (and for thousands of years: "bastard children, divorced, disgraced.")
I wish I had more info. Shame two young kids were murdered - they were innocent and didn't deserve that.
