But srsly, i'd say DC has an edge in physical power, Marvel in high end psionics.
To say its even isnt wrong.
To pick one over the other just comes down to who you like more and what powersets you favor.
DC has it. As they focus on those kinds of characters more.
If you actually sat down and had a comprehensive scan battle of course superman would beat surfer.
After all superman is important to DC whereas Surfer is take it or leave it for Marvel. So Supes' number of showings far exceed his. And while Thor is important but he isn't even the leader of the Avengers.
Dc. Just look at all the top tier books they have had for the past decades. They have more powerful teams, too. JLA, JSA, Legion, Freedom Fighters, all-stars, etc...

Depends on where you look, but in terms of quantity, yeah.
Quality wise, you can always find a match, imo.

dc is always more powerful, since silver age the last 50 years dc has been consistantly havin more ridiculous feats, its more even now what with new 52 nerfing and all, but still marvel cant compete with dc on the chart where the dial goes up to 11
more people pickin marvel characters in battle forum though, because marvel is more popular, thus the bias, their major characters are overrated, especially hulk, thor and surfer. not saying superman isnt overrated but marvel simply has more characters that doesnt live up to their hype
marvel characters do have more feats, thats their only advantage, because they dont reboot like dc does every 10-20 years. but then again dc has more versions of the same character to choose from
