My mind went somewhere very different with the thread title, about a character who has metatextual durability. So like, twitter hatred and such actually bolsters him, so the less likeable and well-written he is, the more unbeatable he is in the comic. __________________

And there are some definite similarities, but mine's more about the fourth wall and our relationship to fictional characters, as well as groupthink and witch hunts that take place on social media, whereas it sounds like Hash is in his own self-contained world.
