Agreed. Early UI Goku was still an ant to even a suppressed Jiren. SSJB2 Vegeta did far more to him than said Goku.

Current Goku rofl-stomps Vegeta though.

To be honest. If Goku didn't have a time limit at that stage I don't see vegeta laying a finger on him. Goku might not be able to damage vegeta though either...

He would damage and destroy Vegeta, because earliest UI Goku hits were sharper and stronger with each hit and within two minutes he would reach the state of UI Goku against Jiren in episode 129 and in the third minute he would become MUI Goku.
