I think this is why I have a problem with characters with super speed, if they're able to move that fast, why wouldn't they move that fast all the time? It takes no more effort to do so - from visuals anyway, no one's huffing and puffing after super speed.

Why would heat vision spell trouble for Thor?

He was in his way. Just like he took out the other avengers. They were soundly defeated until he accomplished his mission.

A range attack that can cut through steel, spammed by someone with super speed.

It isn’t that badass. I suggest rewatching the scene in which he uses it against the avengers.

Thor is far more durable than steel, so I'll ask you again. Why would heat vision spell trouble for Thor?

Except as I had pointed out, he doesn't actually use superspeed when he does his heatvision.

While I've also never seen Superman do it at the same time, do we put a one-power-at-a-time limit on Superman now?

If you read my previous reply, I mentioned that everytime Superman used his heat vision he had to stop in flight, square up and fire. There seems to be a preparatory period before he discharges it. The most movement you get out of him is one or two scenes where he's slowly walking as he heat visions.

He can't seem to just spam it on a whim even in regular speeds so there's no reason to believe he can do so at superspeed.

While not at super speed, Superman did fly at Doomsday and start using heat vision, so the 'charging up' period was done when he was flying forward. He did eventually stop forward motion though.

I don't think the argument that Superman doesn't seem to be able to use HV while flying and moving at super speeds is a bad one. I can't recall a time he has at the very least, and once or twice he did seem to require intense focus and concentration to do it.

I remember him hovering while blasting with heat vision, not actually moving in flight.

Yes and I was right. Superman had to stop and hover as he shot his heat vision.

Heat vision isn't something that can be spammed. In some scenes, it even looks like there is painful feedback from the attack, or at least irritation. Directing so much solar energy to an area as vulnerable as the eyes would logically be a strain..

Not that it would even singe Thor's eyebrows after IW.

Exactly. Superman got Ko'd by a nuc. Thor took the full force of a star for several minutes before being ko'd. HV ain't doing shit to Thor.

What are Superman’s feats with hv? I don’t remember.
I’m thinking that hv wouldn’t be a great tactic depending on the feats it has.
