To be fair I dont like most (if not all) of the NT characters. And at the very least changing some of the actors might help a bit.
The writing also sucks but at least it would be something decent to look at, instead of looking at people that look like they are straight out of your local Walmart.
Even if the actress is a horrible person (maybe she is, I dunno), it still sounds like you hate the character (and rightly so) more than the person playing her.
The only thing I heard about her was the whole "going off social media" thing. Which is bollocks anyway, but I wanted to know if there was something else I'd missed.
I can't remember where I saw it, but I swear I saw something that said that they'd "uglied up" some of the women in the movie like Ridley and Tran. I'd well believe it's true, knowing Disney's track record.
For Boba, he was loved and adored by many fans when first introduced in ESB. He had an immediate cult following. Many fans were super upset when he was killed by a blind Han Solo in RotJ and it was one of the reasons so many fans were buttmad about RotJ (saying it was stupid, the worst, Ewoks, hur dur!).
For Ahsoka Tano, she also had an instant fan-following. Instant! You don't even know, man! It was terrible, all over the net. Weebs, weebs everywhere! Fan art, fan pronz. It was gross. I have no idea where you got this idea that she was hated. Not even close. In fact, I never once read hate for her when her character was first introduced. There was hate for the movie, but not her character.
It would have also made more sense for why Jar Jar's character was banned. It's stupid that he would be banned JUST for being clumsy. It would have been super cool if Palps was targeting Naboo because he felt strong dark side Force from Naboo and wanted it destroyed while he works his way to Emperor. And it was Jar Jar. And the Gungans banned Jar Jar because he was doing some dark things in the shadows but they had no evidence.
Okay, it's decided: Imma draft the script. lol

I get that Boba had fans. My original point was that there really wasn't very much to the character until the EU fleshed him out.
Ahsoka had a following among some, yes. But there was a huge negative backlash towards her. It pretty much vanished as the clones wars found its feet though, and she was developed.

I feel like I'm getting off-topic, though. I don't like Rose as a character. Hell, I don't like most of them outside of BB-8 and Finn in TFA. Rey is a crappy Mary Sue, Poe has no real arc to speak of, Kylo is a really ****ing bad retread of Anakin, and Rose is a god-awful author-insert for the kind of people that care more about what colour someone is than the content of their character.
She's a shit character, but if Disney wants to dig this hole deeper, I say hand them a ****ing shovel. I don't think any character is beyond being written well, though.

Nobody knows. Let us all just be glad they didn't decide to make it so Rey turns out to be Kylo's sister.

It's hilarious, that's the point. And yes, Rey gave the guy special attention because he's retarded.
Because the only way you get special attention from any of the Rey actresses there, is if you are seven years-old - OR - if you are an adult with the mental-capacity of a seven year-old.

The only way an adult man will get special attention from Rey is if she thinks he has Down Syndrome or something.
