Force drain is much more quickly and readily available for use than some ritual with requirements. And since raw power is more effective than magic power, I'd saw Nihilus would find it easier to kill more planets.

Nihilus, absolutely. His Force drain has not been rivaled yet, without Dark Side nexus boosts.

Valkorion's was all raw power despite being a disembodied spirit, without any real anchor, as he drained the nexus itself along with everything else. It also seems to be faster and more instantly effective than Nihilus' black smoke cloud. Not to mention Valk's does more kinds of damage than just wiping out life with some surface destruction.

Ziost's drain and Medriaas' drain are entirely different. In the second, Vitiate used Ziost's Dark Side nexus to mind-control the populace and unleash a potent wave of Dark Side energy to kill them and feed on their residual energies remained after their death.
Meanwhile, Nihilus only employees drain and even affects some structures. And that's pre-prime Nihilus. So, no, Vitiate's shtick isn't more impressive than Nihilus'
