I'm at the part of Ashita where Joe gets beaten decisively at the prison. The former boxer who beat him walzed through a stampede of hogs, and knocked them out.
That may not be as good as Takamura KOing a bear, but it's still pretty ridiculous. I can't see Ippo doing that.

There is so much in this series that Ippo draws off of.
I'm not so sure Ippo is stronger then Joe anymore. The Monkey Man of his series was even crazier then Woolie, bouncing from rope to rope like a chimp, to
deliver punch's at rocket speed. And that leap into not one, but two corkscrew punch's in mid air, to land back on his feet by the third revolution, is toon force level crazy.
And Joe countered the thing. Lept in mid air and punched him into the matt, as he spun around in the air.
Basically, Joe has Ippo's punch's and toughness, Sendou's feral instincts, and Mashiba's "do whatever it takes to crush your enemy" attitude.

Second or third from the top. It devolved into a brawl, but it was a spectacular brawl, that ended the prospective champs career.
That alone beats anything Sendou or Ippo has done.
