Yeah, Valkorion. Taalon at this point has Force power beyond any most powerful mortal being, but has no mastery and control over it. It's common in Star Wars for the unnaturally-boosted to lose to people below their tier (but still not totally out of their depth), but having actual mastery and training to use this power. Kyle vs. Desann comes to mind.

But the only times he's ever died was either when he staged the whole thing(Arcann/Outlander in KOTFE) or when he was extremely vulnerable(suiciding against Sel-Makor and expending energy for a galactic-scale feat). He has been careless at times, but he has definitely learned from his mistakes.

He had hope that via his children he'd basically have an unending supply of hosts. But Vaylin was so powerful that she went insane before he could break her will. He sacrificed Thexan to turn Arcann, but Arcann was a massive disappointment.
He knew his children were liabilities so he went about designing their downfall, whilst crafting the Outlander as the savior of the galaxy and transforming him into a suitable host for himself when he took over. Arcann and Vaylin would be dead, the Outlander would be completely helpless and Tenebrae could rule the galaxy as a benevolent God.
The plan was perfect, bar Vaylin getting way too powerful.

Lol at Valk winning. A ROTS Sidious level force user is not close to someone who can contend with GM Luke.

Interesting thread honestly, I'm not privy to the finer details of post-pool Taalon's feats. Godly power being wielded by a relatively speaking mediocre host vs Valk who needs no introduction.
