To be edgy I'd name drop Fellini or Kurosawa or Tarkovsky. The edgiest of edgelords love dropping Tarkovsky.

But for me, probably Spielberg or Scorsese, they both have a shit ton of films I've enjoyed. Though I've probably enjoyed more Spielberg films in total, as he's a more prolific director. The better films belong to Scorsese.

Good answers...no argument there. What do you think of Quentin or Stanley

Quentin is a good to great director, at least I enjoy almost all his films, but **he's a a notorious shoplifter of ideas/scenes. Mind you, lots of directors borrow and are inspired by other directors. But Quentin straight up shoplifts.

Kubrick is a great director as well, but I can probably count on one hand the number of films of his I really like or love.

**That's just one video, youtube is littered with similar videos comparing Tarantino scenes to other scenes he clearly "borrowed" form

What's so edgy about representing Samurai Jack?

It should be a crime that Genndy Tarkovsky and Stan Sakai have not been put together to make the greatest thing since the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

Of course I'm talking a proper Usagi Yojimbo animated series.

With comments like that, you're really not coming across better than he is. And he's coming across pretty badly.

I didn't know Quentin stole ideas. His favorite film of mine is Res Dogs. That's shitty news to learn

I blame Quanchi for IT's actions.

He's still talented, as the taken idea/scene doesn't make the whole sum of his films.

Don't believe I've ever seen one of his movies.

The Weird is nothing more than a copycat of J'onn J'onzz's power set. Anything Weird can do Martian Manhunter can do better.

Yes, I'm aware they fought. J'onzz jobbed.

Yeah, I really like Quentin, but he's a bit like Greg Land in that respect.

On a related note, I finally watched the Hidden Fortress....and I can see where Lucas lifted all his Star Wars ideas from.

I really enjoy Justin Lin's films, as mass market as it is.

Darabont never gets mentioned, which always shocks me.

I've watched Shawshank more than any other film ever. He rarely makes a bad film.

Along with those others have mentioned I’d include Fincher as he has some good movies along with Nolan too.

Scorcesse is vastly overrated. All he really does is take liberal dogma and turn it into a film.

Take Taxi Driver. "Look pro gun reg nuts, see the crazy menial working white guy with a gun. Guns are baaaad."

You're right. Kiarostami is best then.
