Jesus, Disney, how do you **** up a thing like Star Wars. It's not rocket science.

I'm not saying a test screening did happen...just saying that it isn't far fetched and I don't see Disney admitting it.

What I absolutely do believe however, is that Lucas consulted on the film. Disney is finding that GL isn't receiving the kind of hate he was getting in the past and there has been a rekindled fondness for the PT. Yes, many people still hate them...as evident by comments here, but outside of KMC, you will find lots of "If Hayden is not in Episode 9 then I will be so let down."

Remember Hayden was the guy who sucked so bad......but Star Wars 9 will be ruined if he's not in it.
The kids that thrived on the PT are mostly grown up now and are demanding their nostalgia be fed. Discernment is blind in the face of "good old days of childhood" feels. It was inevitable.

I'll never not eye roll at 3PO's line...

Those aren't his friends, all his real friends have died...the only friends he has left are R2 and Chewie.

Yeah I read that and face palmed so hard. But honestly with the way things have been going, I would prefer that they not drag anything more from the previous Canon through the mud.

They have done that with a few things already..

Its not about dragging through the mud. Its about getting inspiration from comics and novels much like Marvel have always done.

Heck they brought Thrawn into Rebels. Nobody complained there to my knowledge. Not to a major degree at least.

He's been like the only thing brought in from the previous Canon that has been good. I can't really think of much else.

Because not much else (major) has been brought in outside of the films and TCW. And if he can be done well so can so much other stuff.

Also no idea what Kennedy is going on about given Lucas left them with a treatment for a sequel trilogy. What shes basically saying is they threw Lucas treatment and all the old EU in the trash, so they were left with nothing to base the sequels on erm

Yeah. Thrawn's portrayal in Rebels was stellar, and all of the Thrawn novels have been fantastic.

He is just as good(if not better) in canon than he was in Legends, imo... But like you said, no other characters so far are on that sort of level.

I'm not really sure 100% on his Rebels portrayal...I felt at times he was made into an idiot, but they covered it up with "oooh this was my plan all along!" Thing. It just kinda felt...dumb, cause it kept constantly happening.

Still overall apart from that his portrayal is good. I feel like he's only given due because his creator has been the one writing for him in the novels.

Also @ Thor, yeah...what a smart move that was huh? Guess that came back to bite them all in the butt.

Yeah, I saw that one.

I have no doubt it will happen, and that he'll use the Force to break his fall. I'm almost certain that's why this specific/random training scene was recently shown in the comics:

The leaks states, and I'm quoting it directly here: [SPOILER - highlight to read]: "Palpatine then shoots lightning into Ben, forcing him to fall into a bottomless abyss, never to be seen again."

When a producer says it's hard making movies, it's generally not a great sign their upcoming movie is any good.

Just when you think the rumors can't get ANY worse...here's another.

So apparently...[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Palps shoots out Force Lighting at the Rebel Fleet and in doing so...The Falcon is destroyed, Lando, Chewie, R2, Leia and 3PO die..

This apparently on a screening where people legit walked out.

I legit wonder what other rumors can come and possibly top this, if at all...that would be surprising..like a game of Jenga..
