To be fair to Josh; Before JL, multiple posters used to claim Superman's flight speed as his combat speed.

There is a problem with your statement...you are using slow-motion as the only parameter to indicate super-reflexes, which isn't the case.

For instance, many MCU super-heroes have super-reflexes, despite the fact that their fighting sequences aren't in slow motion.

Take Thor for instance, in his fight with the Destroyer we see him blocking energy blasts with Mjolnir. The fighting scene isn't in slow motion, yet the scene does imply very good reflexes from Thor.

You can fight as fast as you can move...That's common sense.

And I used to call them out at that time too.

I remember bringing up Human Torch as an example.

Probably true, but that never stopped them from going right back to that argument in the next Superman thread. heck, I can think of at least one poster than still uses the argument(though I'm fairly sure he's just trolling).

There is zero problem with my statement, the use of slow-mo while everyone else was practically still was to illustrate that Flash and Superman can fight at speeds that make everyone else appear to be statue-like. That was the purpose of those SFX and that scene.

Depends in what fashion you are moving.

Are you saying/admitting Thor can speed blitz Thanos? laughing out loud

I'm not arguing otherwise, i'm arguing that you don't need slow-mo to indicate super speed reactions.

He can't, because he can't move fast enough for that. That's why I said you can't fight faster than you can move.

A person whose top speed is 1m/s won't be able to punch a guy that is 3m away in less than 3s... fighting has nothing to do with distance traveled.

As I originally stated, speed is speed.

He flies pretty fast.

What about Human Torch? Does he punch and kick as fast as he flies? And does he have reflexes to go with that?

You havent addresses reflexes and reaction time at all. But you also need to address punches and kicks and ducks and dodges.

Thats not addressed anything.

Cap Marvel, much like Human Torch, propels herself into the air via energy projection. That literally has nothing to do with how fast she punches, kicks or reacts.

A person can typically punch faster than it can move his entire body. Don't see why she wouldn't.

Note: Although someone can punch faster than it can move it's body, in a fight, moving your body is required when the opponent is outside arm/leg spam. Therefore, fighting is still limited to your max speed.

I have already addressed reaction time. She won't be moving blindfolded. If she is traveling at high speeds, she's got to at least have some perception of her environment...ergo, her reflexes are high too.

I know, but it's been used so often I can't blame Josh for thinking it's a valid argument.

That's an excuse true, but not if he is gonna keep continually pushing the issue.

Your logic is stupid and retarded and here's why:

Usain Bolt can run much faster than say either Sugar Ray Leonard or Roy Jones Jr.; that doesn't mean he can punch and fight faster than either man who are regarded as two of the fastest boxers in boxing history.

OMG!!!!

Punching and kicking is useless if the target is outside arm/leg spam! When that happens, you require to move your body! You'll move it as fast as you can move, that's COMMON SENSE!

Want to get scientific here!? Fine! Answer this:

Mr. Mayweather can punch at a speed of 2m/s, his top speed is of 1m/s. Usain Bolt can travel at a speed of 2m/s and hit at a speed of 1.5m/s. Both have an arm of length 0.5m and have to hit a target that is 4m away.

Who is going to hit the target first? (You don't really need to do calculations, it's pretty obvious)

Please enlighten me!! Since am the stupid fellow.

Cyborg shot at him just missed, WW hit him multiple times, Aquaman reacted to him, Batman beat him with human reactions using his speed to tag him with knite weapons, so Cm will react to him. Cm is way too powerful for Kal. She easily beats him.
