Soule is one of the writers heading up Project Luminous, so it's a cool easter egg.
Also worth noting that the High Republic-era vault that Luke discovered in this issue was =/> Jocasta Nu's cache... Which means Luke had access to an even more ridiculous wealth of knowledge than had already been established.
To say that he should have been one of the most knowledgeable force-users in the mythos is an understatement...
Yeah. Saber or not, it was quite clear that the KoR(and Ren himself) were absolutely nothing to Luke.

I feel like it would be better if we got more to the KoR before this stomp though. I mean it's great seeing Luke do stuff, but honesty I feel like this is just the equivalent of stomping a bunch of 3rd rate thugs.
Never said it was stated, but issue 2 confirms the voice in Kylo”s head is Snoke, not Sheev masquerading as Snoke, and I think it”s implied pretty heavily that said voice is responsible for the lightning blast that leveled Luke”s temple.

Nah. I haven't read the issue, but if that's the case Snoke is lying. Sidious and Snoke are working together to corrupt Kylo. Sidious is ultimately the one speaking to him through telepathy (using multiple voices) as revealed in TROS.
So "Snoke" isn't even his real name. It's an inherited / adopted name like "Kylo Ren".
Curious...
Or Sidious was just embellishing his abilities to make Kylo realize that he'd orchestrated everything behind the scenes. One of those "I made and commanded Snoke, therefore anytime he spoke to you, it was really ME speaking to you" sort of things.
Because the implication here is that Snoke [and -only- Snoke] has been telepathically communicating with Kylo for years, and has clearly built a close relationship with Kylo based on that.
