Magic and Ki are two separate things in Dragon Ball, but not in comics. Power level has absolutely no relation to magical effects, and offers no defense against it (Babi-Di controlled Buu, and his barrier perfectly protected him from his explosions on Majin Vegeta)
Spawn sucks out Goku's soul. (Even after Goku tries caving in his chest, uselessly.)
