Retired Federal Agent Chatted with Shooter in Racist Chatroom, Told Plans
Law enforcement officers are investigating whether a retired federal agent had advance notice of a white supremacist's plans to murder black people at a Buffalo supermarket.
Authorities believe the former agent from Texas was one of at least six individuals who regularly communicated with gunman Payton Gendron in an online chat room where racist hatred was discussed.
Two law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation stated these individuals were invited by Gendron to read about his mass shooting plans and the target location before Gendron killed 10 people at Tops Markets on Jefferson Avenue on May 14th.
Two-thirds of Republicans surveyed agreed with the "great replacement" conspiracy theory that holds that Democrats are importing immigrants to replace "more conservative white voters," according to a newly released survey.
Of Republicans surveyed, 68 percent said they believed that the recent shift in U.S. demographics is "not a natural change but has been motivated by progressive and liberal leaders actively trying to leverage political power by replacing more conservative white voters."
That includes 38 percent who strongly agreed with the statement, with 30 percent of Republicans saying they somewhat agreed.
Law enforcement arrested 31 members of a white nationalist organization known as the Patriot Front near a Pride event in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Saturday, on a charge of conspiracy to riot. The men were packed into a U-Haul truck and detained a short distance away from the gathering, which was being held at public park. -snip
