As long as those damage numbers and RPG aspects don't impact stealth, I'm good. Stealth takedowns need to be one shot. None of this AC Odyssey "stealth takedowns only take a third of enemies health before you have to wack at a bullet sponge" nonsense. Otherwise, it looks great.
Also, this has nothing to do with Arkham apparently. It's its own thing.
Source on the last part? This seems more like an Arkham spinoff which kinda acts as a sequel to Arkham Knight, where Batman after his fakeout death is captured by the Court of Owls, but now it is about his protégés getting the action focus.
Would have preferred this just being another Batman Arkham like we were initially expecting and had been accustomed to, but can make due with this game for now. Not like we was gonna get something else like a Superman game anyway, when they still have it out to generically make him evil or antagonist of some kind in games.
I'm good with this being its own universe. I'd like some new takes on other villains, and the old universe already killed off/crippled some of the bigger villains (Ra's, Bane, Black Mask, Joker, and probably more I'm forgetting). Plus, walking back on Knights ending would be lame IMO, so hopefully thats not a fakeout death. Even if it is, I'd be fine with Bats staying in retirement indefinitely after that. I just don't want to lose the consequence.
If they do a fakeout death here in a new universe just to have him being brainwashed/tortured by the Court, I'd be cool with it.
Also, it can't be the Arkham universe thanks to that new and younger version of Tim Drake. Tim is comparable in age to Batgirl in Arkham, and they got married. This Batgirl is older and already had her stint as oracle after getting paralyzed. Looks like she recovered.
Yeah, I guess now is actually a good a time as any to start moving on from the established Arkham universe, to allow more creative freedom for some DC/Batfamily games, which allowed one such as this to blossom.
It's dumb too considering this is the team that gave us Arkham Origins on PS3/360 (which I stand by being a great underrated game) just around the time PS4/Xbone were coming out.
Why forsake last gen now? I'll be surprised too if scalpers don't get in the way of Gotham Knight's sales considering the target platforms.
To make matters worse, seems this'll be a 2 player co-op at best from what I read of today's news, not 4 player. Even though there's 4 characters to choose from.
Oh, and if the defense is to avoid having worse buggy versions that don't work as well on older consoles to meet a release deadline like Cyberpunk, to that I say I can expect bugs from Gotham Knights regardless of the platform, given the team's track record... Arkham Origins.
I honestly wasn't certain on getting Gotham Knights anyway, but the way they're cutting corners is kind of a red flag for me.

I actually don't mind that it's not coming out on PS4/Xbone. My issues with it are the frankly weird gameplay choices. Co-op alone, as attractive as that is, isn't enough to make me want the game as it stands atm.
The gameplay videos don't exactly show why the game cannot come out on the old consoles...it doesn't look crazy good graphics wise but it could just be the gameplay videos they have.
I don't mind coop if it provides a good singleplayer experience. Dying Light and its sequel are coop and I don't notice a single time where it showed....
Fun fact, Gotham Knights was made off the engine of a cancelled Power Rangers game. A AAA Power Rangers game that would have co-op and stuff as you'd expect. WB just took what remained of the idea & assets and made it into their own for the Batfamily.
As interesting as Gotham Knights could be, I would've taken that Power Rangers game over it, which would've covered most of the different series. Plus we've had enough Batman related games, but I hope this still proves interesting enough to be worth getting someday.
