It's true DDM most Americans I meet are whip smart. I have one American friend who is John Candy sized and looks the worst possible stereotypical yank. He is literally always the smartest guy in the room, with two Doctorates, one in law and the other in Chemistry.
Gotta disagree, identity politics is adhered to as strictly on the left as actual religion is on the right. Diversity in everything but thought is their slogan.
And inflexibility? Giggle. Death anxiety? Giggle, they're terrified of incels and white supremacists, etc.

I don't see anyone triggered yet, save I guess for the guy who popped in to make a fee fee's comment...

My psychologist colleagues and I -- having all worked in New York City public high schools for 30+ years, see things as possibly being even more dire. Not all cultures value education equally. And if the American demographic change goes as 'predicted', the collective IQ may well drop because of people who are here legally (assuming those cultural values don't change).
It also doesn't help that we have a capitalist-advertising system that caters to short attention spans and immediate gratification. Or that education in the US is given a lot of lip service. I had read an article years ago (I believe it was right after 9/11, when George W told Americans to get out and spend or the terrorists win) that said, if you want to know what a nation really values, note where it devotes its time, energy and money. Generally, we put a lot of those resources into pop music, movies, pro sports -- basically entertainment, ie, escape from reality. Whereas education, child care -- essentially preparing for reality -- don't get nearly the same attention.
Even something as basic as memorizing phone numbers, rather than using 'speed dial', can make a difference.

We spent thousands(maybe hundreds of thousands) of dollars studying the mating habits of quails on cocaine. We're bad at handling resources.
We've also bought land that we already owned in the past.

This is very interesting stuff. And I agree. The attention span is absolutely terrible.
My GF is 9 years younger than I am. She has an MBA, works in management, is highly valued in her workplace. She seems normal in every way. Until you get outside of education and work stuff. I showed her a funny 40 second youtube video. She skipped through most of it. While watching it.
She does it to everything. She cannot sit through more than 20 second clips.
Skip skip, haha, skip, ha. Done.
I can't believe people like this exist. So I did the same thing with my nephews: same thing. "Skip skip, haha, skip, ha. Done." So I think my GF is at that age, the oldest of the short-attention span gen who grew up completely on the internet.
I blame the Instagram video time-limit thing. And Vines. And now TicTok videos. And Snapchat videos.
The attention spans have dropped to that of gold fish. It's incredulous. It's all social media's fault. lol
Also, get off my lawn, anti-education black culture is toxic and needs to die, the US needs to invest less in war and more in health and education, and I think Surtur is not an incel but he is lazy.
I'd refute your accusation of being lazy, but I don't feel like it right now.

But they adhere to it as strictly as the right adheres to religion.
Just like nazism wasn't a religion, but they sure as hell behaved like one in all but the name. Substitute Hitler for God.
Country with over 330 million people had less than 60 die at the hands of white supremacists last year. Meanwhile we average about 51 deaths per year due to lightning.

i agree with surt. Since the numbes are comparable we should treat them accordingly.
How should we treat lightning?
Lets ask the experts
"The American Meteorological Society wants the American public to understand the serious hazard posed by lightning and what it needs to do to be safe. All of us, and especially people responsible for the safety of others, need to be well informed about lightning safety"
As long as lefties experience the same anxiety over being struck by lightning, I'm cool with it
And sometimes too much information can be a bad thing. Shall we not tell them about all the people who die in car accidents each year? Lest they never set foot in a car again. Give these poor worried souls at least some peace of mind. They could be struck by lightning while being murdered by a white supremacist at any moment.

I feel like u just pulled me into crazy town with u.
You'll only be cool with me agreeing with u that lightning strikes and white supremacy should be treated the same if all lefties agree to some strange stipulation.
Its your point man. Why should anyone agree to any stipulations to get u to agree with yourself about your own point?
Perhaps you weren't following along, I brought up white supremacists as an example of death anxiety from the left. The response was "it's a real fear" which prompted the response from me you quoted.
So if we're gonna treat them accordingly the left would need to...treat them accordingly.
EDIT: Now if my comment was about you specifically then hey your agreement would be enough

Just to be perfectly clear about the point I'm trying to make: if leftists were educated on the numbers of those actually killed by lightning and the number of those actually killed by white supremacists I do not think fear of lightning would increase among them nor do I think fear of white supremacists would decrease.
Is there someone here who would like to disagree?

I think that is an accurate general assessment. However, I do believe that some, who are heavily fact-based, would change their mind. Some people really do inform their opinions based on the facts. When presented with facts that contradict beliefs, they change their beliefs. Some atheists go about their lives doing just this.
As something as uncontroversial as the number of deaths from lightning strikes and the number of white-supremacist homicides, you'd likely see some of those types change their minds. They just didn't have the best information before them and went off of hearsay and hysteria.
but dont they and everyone else have a real fear of those things?
I think weve been over this before
Hasn't pretty much everyone been raised to have a healthy fear of lightning? Get out of the pool, put the golf clubs away, cancel the little league games.... Aren't millions and millions of dollars spent each year by both local and national weather services tracking thunder storms and providing lightning alerts? It literaly dictates how we live our lives when it comes around and we spend fortunes tracking it so we can have some warning when ot does.
Same with driving. Theres a reason why we have airbags and seatbelts with laws to wear them, why tons of people dont drive in the rain or snow or on the highway, why parents are so scared when their kids get their licenses and why the auto industry has spent billions and billions on making cars safer.
If u want all lefties or almost anyone for that matter to treat lightning and driving with the same amount of fear they treat white supremacists, then people are really gonna have to step up their white supremacy fear.
Were going have to have develop a white supremacists Doppler like radar to track them 24/7 world wide. Then create a white supremacist channel much like the weather channel where the nazi radars findings are broadcasts to the people 24/7 and warnings can be issued thru local channels so people can prepare, cancel tball games, get out of the pools and stay inside until they pass by.
So since lefties and most people in general treat driving and lightning with fear (unless u dont wear a seatbelt or get out of the pool when a thunderstorm hits, in which case ur a moron) ur cool with treating white supremacy as a serious threat worthy of the same amount of fear and preparation given to lightning?
