Sirak was a talented student but did not even make it through the Brotherhood Academy whereas Lord Vindican was an accomplished Sith Lord in a time when standards for training Sith as well as competitive pressures were far more intense than in the days of Brotherhood - massive disparity in skills and experience obviously. For instance, Vindican tanked and mitigated the blast of a missile (fired by Jace Malcom) as if it did not matter. This feat is beyond the capacity of some Jedi Masters, let alone a mere student. Vindican's Force Lightning blast also incapacited Lord Malgus for a while when deflected towards the position of latter by the renowned Jedi Master Kao Cen Darach. Lord Malgus was a TANK even at this point in time, mind you.
Sirak is completely outclassed here.

It is sad how massively underrated the Old Republic Sith Lords are.
