There are some fundamental beliefs he needs to be part of, first, to make it happen.
He gets an "ingress" interview. If he has fundamentals disagreements with the basic tenets, he won't get approved for baptism. It's also a "ingress" quality check to make sure a potential new church member is not being tricked into baptism.
