Worried Sidious and Lord Mommin?

Why didn't Sidious try and resurrect himself the way Lord mommin did instead of the crude and inefficient methods he used during ROS? Especially if he had the power and knowledge of all the Sith before him.

Momin being anchored to his mask was the result of a total freak accident, not a pre-planned ritual that could be replicated.

That is debatable IMO. He obviously had enough control over his essence for it to cling to the mask when his body was destroyed.

But Im more talking about the rebirth he achieved in the construction of Vaders castle. His manipulation of time allowed for a proper rebirth of his previous self.

Momin was deemed a heretic by the Sith, so pretty much all knowledge of his existence/methods were lost over the years. Even Palpatine himself only learned of Momin through the mask -- so it's entirely possible that he simply did not know how to create a dark side focusing chamber/locus like that... or even that it was possible.

Don't think about it too much. Disney didn't.

I mean, Momin wasn't really a 'Sith' in the conventional sense(which is why he was essentially ostracized from the order), and his essence was fully contained within his mask... Which was still floating around by the ST, so far as we know. So I couldn't say for sure if he was among those Sith who Palpatine had 'accumulated'.

But even IF Momin was part of the omni-Sith that Palpatine had become, do we really have a reason to suspect that he gained the knowledge of all those who had come before, or did he just accrue their power..?

It's not debatable.

Momin was attempting to use a Sith superweapon to freeze a city in the moment of its destruction. When the Jedi intervened, the ritual was disrupted and Momin's essence was imprinted into the mask when his body was destroyed.

It was a total freak accident.

Where are you getting that it was an freak accident?

His concentration was disrupted, his body was destroyed, and his essence hopped inside the mask. How do you know he didn't consciously will his essence into the mask when his body died?

I think you've come up with a pretty good idea for a limited comic series, sheev! thumb up

In Legends, Vader was known to experiment with the Dark Side to figure out how he could overthrow Sidious. In Canon, he's been focused (with the Momin arc in the Dark Lord comics, Vader Immortal, the 2020 comic), on how to use the Force to control life and death.

So, somebody could very well create a plotline with Vader trying to figure out how to bring Padme back and the Emperor trying to use that method to find a better way to stay alive. While Vader tries to keep it secret because he wants to overthrow Palpatine. Momin's mask could be a great opportunity for exploration considering how much Vader likes technology.
