That 2 people exposed 147 others should be alarming to anyone concerned about a virus that spreads exponentially.

Not alarming at all. Just more useless fearmongering.

Let it spread as quickly as possible and to as many people as possible except our elderly and vulnerable.

Viruses do not respect boundaries. Those 147 people may be vulnerable themselves, and may have gone on to expose other vulnerable people in the time it took for the exposure incident to be identified and for them to be tested. In the meantime, asymptomatic carriers are the most contagious, and are spreading the virus exponentially to people before they even know they have it.

Gotcha. So you agree with Cuomo's policies which medical professionals, including epidemiologists, condem?

And that also means that there's no utility in social distancing from the elderly and vulnerable? And that all lockdown policies were dumb?

That is not what I stated. "Viruses do not respect boundaries" means that viruses are not going to obstain from infecting vulnerable people, because asymptomatic carriers did not know they were infected and exposed them by ignoring social distancing measures.

Considering we missed anywhere from 50-85 times the number of people infected, it's too late and any idea or notion that it can be fought with draconian measures it not only silly, they are anti-scientific.

So, just to be clear, you are saying, taking the advice of scientists and doctors is anti- scientific? Or did i misunderstand you?

The opposite. There are multiple recommendations from medical professionals and epidemiologists and we just so happen to have listened to a minority who got it wrong.

Fauci himself has also contradicted himself multiple times.

Locking down, wearing masks, etc. Almost all junk science that functions as a placebo.

For example, it is estimated that when we had the first positive test for COVID-19 in NY, there were actually around 10,000 infected. Meaning, it was too late to have addressed this with lockdowns and other draconian measures. Those efforts needed to have started 2 weeks prior.

Additionally, the lockdowns will not fight a virulent virus SARS and the epidemiologists know it. Remember, the original goal was to flatten the curve because there's no way to stop it.

Edit - It is extremely tough to talk people back from the extreme measures as everyone has been whipped up into such an extreme frenzy over this, the notion that almost all measures were useless is too scary of a concept for people to accept. People want to feel like they made the correct decisions so they've invested heavily in reconfirming, over and over, that what they did and believed was correct. Almost no one can accept the reality that all of these measures are junk science.

Some states have been reopened for weeks. Despite what the media told us and some medical professionals, we didn't have a massive resurgence or a second wave. In fact, those states that opened up sooner are faring better than those that did not. And that has to frustrate many who bought into the draconian measures narrative.

So if we cannot prevent all deaths, we should not prevent any deaths?

No.

Since lockdowns and shutdowns are ineffective and actually show to have he opposite effect intended, they should end. Instead, we should use testing and contact tracing to protect the elderly and vulnerable. A similar policy that should exist pretty much always.

Two weeks after the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Democratic Governor Tony Evers’ Safer-at-Home order, the state saw a record number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths.

According to the Department of Health Services, the state reported 599 new known COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and 22 known deaths—the highest recorded daily rise since the pandemic began.
