I think to pretend that rioting and looting does never have consequences that are in accordance with the goals of the rioters or looters would be misguided, not saying you do, but it does seem like there is a general dismissal of any tactic that is not sanctioned by a specific state, which is of course incredibly convenient for whoever holds the power in a state or system.
Instead of rioting they should be killing police officers and their families in their homes and assassinating local political figures like the mayor tbh.
I don't know, I haven't talked to them, I would assume that for many it is an expression of their anger and frustration at the perceived mistreatment by the authorities of black people in the United States. Which is not to say that I don't think there are people that just view it as convenient, or at best have a latent understanding of their own anger.

I am not sure if you are joking, but that would certainly change the politics of this. And depending on the power balance, it could have positive or negative consequences to their cost. Certainly the law breaking of movements under MLK Jr., Malcolm X and generally the Black Panthers created a fundamental change in the political realities of the United States.
The world would be a better place if people would just nut up and kill other people tbh. People complain about poverty and social injustice but then don't publicly decapitate the people who are causing those problems. It makes no sense.
