You dodged the question. Should I ask it again?

There is also nothing "extraordinary" about the POTUS receiving security briefings, Surt. It litterally goes with the job.

Also of note: "White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany did not answer when asked by reporters whether the information had been included in the president's written briefing, saying only that Mr Trump had not been "personally briefed"." -snip

They're not outright denying that the info wasn't made available to Trump.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

"Anonymous officials said so" surely would not qualify, right?

You're still dodging the question. Very cowardly, but expected.

By McEnany's comment, it seems the info was made available to Trump via written form. He likely didn't read it.

Is extraordinary evidence required yes or no?

Afghanistan war: Trump got written briefing on 'Russia bounties', reports say

Officials have insisted that President Donald Trump was not "personally" informed of the alleged plot in Afghanistan in 2019.

But reports say the president received a written briefing earlier this year.

There is concern that Mr Trump might have had access to information about threats to US forces but did not act.
-snip

I find it hard to believe Trump was not given a report on this, he very likely was and simply didn't bother to read it. Not reading security briefings or having just tidbits told to him secondhand is something that has haunted him since he took office. Even staunch Republicans who have worked for him have said this.

Director of National Intelligence tweeted that the President and Vice President were not briefed:

https://twitter.com/ODNIgov/status/1277079117234651141

Okay, so maybe he was lying, right?

Then what about the Department of Defense claiming there is no solid evidence of this Russian Bounty story?

quote:
DOD Statement attributable to Chief Pentagon Spokesman Jonathan Hoffman:

"The Department of Defense continues to evaluate intelligence that Russian GRU operatives were engaged in malign activity against United States and coalition forces in Afghanistan. To date, DOD has no corroborating evidence to validate the recent allegations found in open-source reports. Regardless, we always take the safety and security of our forces in Afghanistan — and around the world — most seriously and therefore continuously adopt measures to prevent harm from potential threats."

So was the NYT telling the truth? Or was this a hit-piece aimed at reigniting the Russia-Trump hysteria because the economy is skyrocketing and COVID-19 panic is fading?

Every single person who believed this is a moron.

Trump Never Briefed On Unvetted Russian Bounty Intel Because NSA "Strongly Dissented"

"On Tuesday, the same day that Joe Biden finally emerged to hold his first press conference in 89 days in order to lash out at what he called Trump's "dereliction of duty" over the NY Times Russian bounties for Taliban militants to kill American troops in Afghanistan story, The Wall Street Journal issued this bombshell:

The National Security Agency strongly dissented from other intelligence agencies’ assessment that Russia paid bounties for the killing of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, according to people familiar with the matter.

The disclosure of the dissent by the NSA, which specializes in electronic eavesdropping, comes as the White House has played down the revelations, saying that the information wasn’t verified and that intelligence officials didn’t agree on it."

Since Trump has been elected it seems as though many in our media/news outlets have gone to great lengths to provide one of the greatest misinformation campaigns ever to undermine action in the USA with great support from our elected officials.

It's not like Trumps attrocious tweets don't provide enough fuel, we need MOAR.

Disagree, I think the misinformation tends to come from Trump and his supporters.

They really can't complain about being called the enemy when they uncritically publish claims from anonymous officials without any evidence.

The point was to give Russia Gate one last gasp.

And this info supposedly was gleaned from interrogating Afghan prisoners lol

You can't even properly define words like fascist, nazi, etc. so your opinion matters very little.

MSM is an absolute joke. Only boomers have any trust in it anymore, the younger generations see through it for the most part.

You'd think the whole "WMD" debacle would maybe make these people hesitate when it comes to parroting unconfirmed claims from these officials who are too cowardly to even put their name on record.

But that would require the ability to learn and adapt.

Disagree all you like, it doesn't change the facts that the majority of mainstream media/news outlets control the feed of information. As institutions they set the tone, not some flash in the pan opinion website that represents itself as conservative.

Which is why I also said Trumps tweets are easy to prove incorrect and he doesn't provide the amount of information disseminated that 24/7 media outlets do. Most of the outlets have turned into opining false narrative positive feedback loops.

One simply has to take a step back and look at popular control of education/news/media etc and it clearly isn't trump nor his supports.

I wish this were true, but I'm guessing a good portion of people between the ages of 20-30 believed this story when hearing about it.

Especially given the way academia has changed here in the last decade(the brainwashing). If students can be such snowflakes they demand UCLA fire a professor for refusing to be racist and give black students special privileges...something tells me they aren't employing any critical thinking skills when they see the media push out propaganda. In fact I'd wonder if they are even capable of recognizing propaganda without a professor telling them something is propaganda.

I said "for the most part" — some Gen X'ers are still under its sway. I find it weird that the second most disaffected generation put so much faith in the media that alienated and disenfranchised them.
