Makes sense. The red sunlight weakness could have been built in to prevent universal domination. Like let's give ourselves powers until we can prove our worth, unfortunately Krypton exploded before they could.

once doomsday was reborn it was on Krypton so he has to be considered kryptonian because a few of those rebirth allowed him to survive thd conditions of the planet.

Then each birth after, also on Krypton.

The sunlight traits are not only existent in the humanoid kryptonians and Daxamites, but also in many of the other creatures we've introduced to over time from monsters to dragons and dogs. All the beings seem stronger under the yellow sun.
