You're right, but sometimes I think the mainstream media blow it out of proportion and I think it's wrong to call someone racist just because they agree with someone else on immigration policies but don't necessarily share there views on skin colour. It makes a mockery of the debate and is, in itself, a form of scare mongering.

I don't know what you mean with that. From an outsider, Brexit seemed like something to gin up and froth the rabble in force, where the orchestrators of Brexit didn't believe it would pass, then when it did they all went "oh sh!t!" and did the washing of the hands.
