As you can see from the scans you posted, Orion was at the center of the blast and when Orion boom-tubed from the battle, the star system was already destroyed.

Orion said, "We made it A4." What is that meant to imply if not that he escaped the blast?

No. Not necessarily. We don't know exactly where he was when the explosion took place. He could've been attempting to out-pace the blast before opening the Boom Tube.

Plus, what Orion tried to escape isn't ncessarily is the star system-blast, but rahter, the Omega Beams.

That's not what the Boom Tube scene indicates.

As for how much force Orion contributed, aside from the fact that the writer states it's the collision of the force between Orion and Golem.

I don't get it. What do you think this proves? They clashed, and their clash destroyed the star system. It never suggested that they were equal, in fact, Orion was at a clear disadvantage in terms of power, and would've died after he was hit by the Omega Beams if not for the intervention of Hal and Kyle. And if that was clear enough, just before he stabs himself he suggests that the next charge of Omega Beams will kill him.

So I feel assuming the force Orion contributed is not notable a flimsy assumption to say the least

The writer even specifies that Orion didn't know that would happen. How can that be the case if he supposedly released enough energy to raze a star system?

Chances are it was caused some esoteric reaction with the Nth Metal Golem or the energies it channeled.

Now to be clear, we don't know what happened. And that's the issue: Taking an extremely ambiguous scene and then forcing an interpreation onto it.

How's it ambiguous when we see the solar system being destroyed on panel by the energy blast created by Orion and the golem, see its rubble afterwards and the next issue directly confirms it?

Why are you so stupid?

Like he thought he escaped the Omega Beams before the golem finished charging? Or he finally found an escape from the golem after he tanked the star system destroying blast?etcetc
The bottom line is:
1)All of the scene happened *after* the star system has been destroyed(like at least two pages before, when Hal arrived it already is blown apart)
2)it never specifically says Orion is running from star system destroying blast. To quote your part, it's purely your speculation

On the other hand, we actually saw the explosion as you can see in the first two pages
Orion and golem fights, it results in an explosion. And in case it isn't clear enough, the writer comments that the collision between them destroyed the system. Later he also let Kyle badically say the same thing in the comic

As for Orion and golem's power levels, no, I never states they're equal, but is the force Orion contributed is not notable? No I don't think so
Kyle specially stops Orion from fighting golem due to he fears Orion will cause a star system destroyed again, while Hal is fighting said golem.
As for the writer says Orion didn't know it would be the result, not sure how this proves? It can just mean that Orion didn't think it would take so much energy.
In same spirit, I also can say that the writer says the destruction is caused by two forces(Orion and golem). If it basically is all golem's, why not just says it caused by the golem. And it actually in line with the comic(I.E, Kyle stops Orion from engaging the golem, due to the last he tried it, it blew apart a star system)

To recap, what you assert(specifically, the Orion escaped the star system destruction part) is based on a scene that never necessarily indicates what you assert. And it doesn't fit very well in the comics

I definitely think less of his work than I did as a kid but he was still bar none one of the single best manga draftsmen there was, able to seamlessly flow action and dialogue in a way that was easy to follow and actually allowed a progression of time in a static manga page, an extremely hard skill to hone that he did seemingly effortlessly. Say whatever you want about his writing but as an artist he was one of the best to ever do it. Rest in peace.

Yeah as a mangaka he is definitely one of the most foundational ones out there IMO.
Drawing the flow of action to a point it almost let's readers instinctly know what happens really is something. And it seems to have a great impact on other manga
I also think this is one of reasons why manga's fight scenes seem far more impressive than comics. It's just far easier to understand a fight through pictures than texts, humans can instinctly know what happens through seeing how the action progresses by the scene than through seeing texts. But I digress

Anyway, Rest in peace Toriyama

Good God.

Dragon Ball Super was so bad, it literally killed DB creator.

Sad news. Like EmoNeme would say; we'll soon follow, time flies.
