Freeza obviously *can* destroy a planet by taking out it's core. That's what he did to Namek, and that's also what he may have done to Earth during RoF(though the anime makes it less clear.)
But it's clearly not the *only* way he can destroy a world. The planet-buster he flicked at Vegeta didn't look to have targeted its core, as it detonated on impact with the planet's surface.

"Remote planet". From a GALAXY prison, so remote by galaxy standards. From Dypso's words, we can assume Jiren was there sometime between the moment Toppo left for the Pride Troopers, and when he told him where he was.
And using his own power is FASTER then a ship.

Toppo used a Pride Trooper ship to get from Belmond's palace to the planet the Pride Troopers were on within 2 pages -- and it's not like there was a lengthy time gap there, because Toppo arrived to help them against a creature they were already in the middle of fighting. There's also the fact that the Pride Troopers actively protect the entirety of U11, which they obviously would not be able to do if their ships couldn't travel far beyond c. So if Jiren's flight speed > a Pride Trooper ship, then it speaks volumes.
...Not that there's any real way to accurately quantify Jiren's flight speed, given that we don't know the exact distance he covered or the exact amount of time it took him to travel there, but I'm still confident that he's MFTL.

Yup, dragon Ball z movies were WAY ahead of the anime/manga when it came to PLs
At the cell saga level, you had broly reducing a galaxy to a tiny piece of what it was
At the Buu saga level, janemba in just his First form was basically warping otherworld and the mortal world
He beat down Krillin post Jackie Chun. Even early Budokai is >>> Cap level.
