By all means define fascism and communism and outline the differences, cuz this post could almost read like "left wing fascists are just communists". Was that your intent?

Well for one communism is generally defined as left wing and fascism is right wing.
Their similarities are in that they both deny rights to the population and are usually ruled via dictatorship. Both are anti democratic.
The differences are that fascism is often based around nationalism and embraces a rigid class base structure. Also usually involves hyper militarism and open racism. Fascism allows private property for some. Communism rejects economic classes as a whole and private property does exist in those regimes. Everything is owned by the state/community.
For communism did you mean private property "doesn't" exist cuz u said does...

Yes if people actually own property then it’s not communism. It could be communism if he simply runs the restaurant but doesn’t have the ability to close it or move it or things like that.
Another thing in communism is that a person’s job is usually assigned to them. They can’t make the choice themselves to go be a baker or something. They’re told to do that and that’s that.

And I guess it is theoretically possible for left wing fascism to exist. If a nation ticked all those boxes in the service of left wing politics. But a lot of those fly in the face of traditional left wing politics.

Oh ffs Surt. Communism is the idea that all produce is owned by the government and given to people according to those who need it the most in order to keep everyone working to make more produce.
Fascism is the idea that the government is a corporation amongst other independent corporations and acts like one so private investors can fund or trade with the government as if it's a business like the other already existing businesses with the exception that the fascist government owns all the people including those who work for the other corporations.
They're both authoritarian, but in very different ways. One has control of all production and distribute it accordingly to a person's need, whereas the second acts as the supervisor to all the other corporations. IE, like Backfire said, Fascism allows competition but keeps the government in charge, but communism has no money, corps or competition; it all goes to the government.
