He really wasn't though. Vegeta only did better then Sign Goku because of a trick, Moro said he seemed pretty weak compared to Goku.

In terms of raw power, current Sign Goku > current SSB Vegeta. Vegeta's Forced Spirit Fission technique is the only reason he outperformed Goku against Moro.

Moro said that Blue Evolved Vegeta was going to be a finer meal for him that Sign Goku. Goku himself said that Vegeta surpassed him. Blue Evolved Vegeta has shown to withstand multiple attacks from Base Moro and Seven Three Moro unlike Sign Goku.

Nah, Sign Goku was rocking the shit out of Moro, whereas Vegeta's attacks couldn't even knock Moro down until the Forced Spirit Fission kicked in and he began to weaken.
Vegeta only "surpassed" Goku in the sense that he learned advanced spirit techniques that not even Goku had mastered -- but in terms of raw power, Sign Goku was clearly superior.

SSB evolved Vegeta was stronger than UiO Goku, quite a bit so. Add his fission to it and he dominates this fight.
