It's like Jimmy McGill in Better Call Saul finding out his brother conned him, and trying to use the company he worked for to settle his personal dispute. His partner knew for a fact he was wronged, but begged him to just let it go, for the good of the company.
If Trump can prove his claims, prove it. Otherwise, man up and realize this is politics, and the he was dirtied. And that's life.
That's his problem, don't make it the country's problem.
