Just saw this is the director who did Hardcore Henry.
Fortunately it looks nothing like that. I mean, I give that movie a little credit for trying to be a little different and original, but I just didn't really like it.
This was the second film after the Unholy I saw after theaters started reopening. It’s a definite 6-7/10 IMO the violence and occasional bouts of humor worked for me (Odenkirk changing the days without accidents form to 0) in the last act. The H2H/shootout scenes were all good kind of like a stripped down 1st film John Wick. It’s clear the film much like Atomic Blonde are trying to fit into the JW Universe, and much like the first film the villain is kinda of throwaway. The family as well is just sort of there pointlessly, and the repetitive daily life montages got a little irritating. But when the movie kicks into high gear it’s a lot of fun, and seeing Christopher Lloyd in anything is rare these days. It was definitely a fun film and much better than the mixed bag the Unholy was
