It's more than just following orders they are conditioned by the region they grew up in, Deliverance's Georgia river may have been fictional but across the south those people really do exist.
The Oregon Republican Party earlier this month approved and released a resolution calling the Jan. 6 Capitol riot by pro-Trump supporters a “false flag” operation and condemning Republicans who voted to impeach now-former President Trump over his role in the assault.
The resolution claims without proof that there is “growing evidence” that the Capitol attack that left five dead was a “false flag” event meant to “discredit President Trump, his supporters, and all conservative Republicans.”
“This provided sham motivation to impeach President Trump in order to advance the Democrat goal of seizing total power,” the statement says.
These people are once again incapable of showing a shred of accountability, it's always someone else's fault with the nonsense "false flag!" claims.

I mean, the only thing that I can think is that Republicans WANT their anointed cult leader to run again and push for more of their Judeo-Christian authoritarianism and anti-environmental policy. They clearly don't give a shit about inciting violence or defending the Constitution or the country if it means admitting to being wrong even in the SLIGHTEST. No integrity whatsoever. Just total whores for their single-minded ideology.
Which means Trump forms his "Patriot Party", siphoning off votes from the GoP.

Personally, I feel he's unelectable at this point. Biggest base, but too many converts.
They can't win an election with him, and can't guarantee he won't run against them. The impeachment would have been the best case for the GoP, bexause it rules out the options.

There's no way he'd not have his name in his own new party, so it'd be something like "The Trump Patriot Party of True Patriots", maybe add "best" and/or "biggest" in there somewhere.
