Christie Begs MAGAs to Give Up On 2020: "It's Over"
Chris Christie, speaking yesterday at the annual Republican Jewish Coalition leadership meeting:
"Let me make one thing really clear: The only reason to affiliate with a political party, the only reason to support a political party is to win.
Nothing else matters. If you don't win, you can't govern. And winning campaigns are always the campaigns that look forward, not backwards.
We can no longer talk about the past and the past elections. No matter where you stand on that issue, no matter where you stand, it is over.
And every minute that we spend talking about 2020, while we're wasting time doing that, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are laying ruin to this country.
We better focus on that and take our eyes off the rear view mirror and start looking through the windshield again."
In an angry conversation on his final day as president, Donald Trump told the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee he was leaving the GOP and creating his own political party—and that he did not care if the move would destroy the Republican Party, according to a new book by Jonathan Karl.
Trump only backed down when Republican leaders threatened to take actions that would have cost Trump millions of dollars, Karl writes his upcoming book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show.
"I'm done," Trump told McDaniel. "I'm starting my own party."
"You cannot do that," McDaniel told Trump. "If you do, we will lose forever."
"Exactly. You lose forever without me," Trump responded. "I don't care."
According to the book, Trump backed down after McDaniel threatened to withhold access to the GOP's mailing list and to stop paying Trump's legal defense bills. The mailing list of 40-million names is valued at around $100-million.

Nice.
Hopefully Trump runs in 2024, he gets subbed by the GOP and his now sycophants who will running (eg DeSantis, Cruz) do a 180* and turn on him, making him so angry he goes on to run under his own "MAGA" or "True Patriot" party.
BOOK: Trump Staff Lamented They Killed Herman Cain
In an excerpt from the upcoming book Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show, Jonathan Karl reported that many of Trump's campaign staffers blamed themselves for Herman Cain's death:
"We were all trying to figure out who's testing positive, because we were all thinking, 'Oh, shit. Was I near that person last night?'" a senior staffer told Will Steakin shortly after the rally. "We killed Herman Cain."
BOOK: Mnuchin And Pompeo Discussed Removing Trump Via 25th Amendment
Jonathan Karl writes in Betrayal that then-Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin spoke with other Cabinet members, including then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about attempting to remove Trump from office through the 25th Amendment.
Karl said Pompeo "asked for a legal analysis of the 25th Amendment and how it would work," but the idea was "quickly jettisoned" the next day, once the officials recognized how difficult the path for such an effort would be—namely, as then-Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and then-Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao were resigning.
House Republicans can’t seem to stop fighting with each other, despite potentially being less than a year out from winning the majority in the 2022 midterm elections.
Just two weeks ago, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) urged Republicans to stop attacking each other after 13 moderate GOP lawmakers were marked as traitors by some of their conservative colleagues over their votes for the bipartisan infrastructure bill championed by President Biden.
McCarthy, the odds-on favorite to be the next Speaker if the GOP does win back the House next year, said his conference should focus instead on their opposition to Democrats’ social spending and climate package.
Weeks later, conservative and ultraconservative lawmakers are again making headlines with schoolyard insults on Twitter.
The GOP drama on Tuesday was the nasty Twitter fight between Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), with Greene calling the swing-district lawmaker “trash” for condemning Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.). Mace fired back by using emojis to label Greene as “batshit crazy.” -snip
Jones Threatens to "Dish Dirt" on "Pathetic" Trump
Alex Jones is threatening to "dish all the dirt" on Donald Trump to get back at him over his endorsement of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Yeah, we all wish Trump would do the right thing," Jones said on his Wednesday afternoon InfoWars program, before urging his listeners to "move on" from Trump due to his glowing endorsement of the vaccine.
"In fact, maybe—you know what—to get Trump's attention," he continued, "maybe I should just dish all the dirt—you know what, you know what—I am going to dish it all on Trump next hour."
Jones added, "It's not to hurt Trump, it's so people can know how pathetic he is when you think he is playing 4D chess, going to save you and he's not!"

I suspect that the cult surrounds Trump, not Alex Jones. I just can't see many Trump followers jumping ship. At least not here in the evangelical Bible belt where I am.
Trump Attacks "Gutless" Republicans Who Won't Reveal Vax Status
Donald Trump endorsed COVID-19 vaccines again and blasted "gutless" politicians who will not say if they have been boosted. In an interview with the far-right One America News network, Trump said he was pro-vaccination and that he experienced "absolutely no side effects" after receiving his booster shot.
"Many politicians—I watched a couple of politicians be interviewed and one of the questions was, 'Did you get the booster,' because they had the vaccine—and they're answering it like, 'Yes,' but they don't want to say it. Because they're gutless," Trump told the OAN presenter Dan Ball.

Trump should have been doing this while President, better late than never I guess. So I applaud him for finally doing the right thing.
Do love the cognitive dissonance he's going to give Trumpers like Time and Etheno though.
“I’ve had the booster. Many politicians — I watched a couple of politicians be interviewed and one of the questions was, ‘Did you get the booster?’ because they had the vaccine. And they’re answering like — in other words, the answer is ‘yes’ but they don’t want to say it. Because they’re gutless. You gotta say it, whether you had it or not. Say it. But the fact is that I think the vaccines saved tens of millions throughout the world. I’ve had absolutely no side-effects.†-Trump
Now if only Biden didn't fan the flames with his "Our patience is wearing thin" speech.
Bet he was told to do that by party leaders. If he had two neurons to rub together, he would say something like:
"Our vaccination rates are not where we'd like them to be. And while we certainly respect one's right to choose what is best for them and their families against the words of authorities, as is our tradition as Americans, we would encourage you to examine the data for yourselves. It is out there, publically available, and widely vetted by the scientific community..
If you still harbor doubts, there will be no mandates. You will not be forced, as this is not a dictatorship."
