Hollywood has been very guilty of this, remaking/rebooting shows and movies with more diverse characters and themes like changing characters to be Black, LGBT, reimagining male characters to be women because of the lack of female characters in the cast.
It does not help when Hollywood finds other series to make modern adaptations from other classic existing source material just to force in diversity for the sake of forcing diversity. It's become a huge SJW Agenda and they like using it as a crutch.
Just saying Hollywood should not force it on existing series from a long time ago, it would be better if they just made new and original TV shows or Movies that had diveristy.

No, homogeniety has historically been forced in media. So much so, that many people think that homogeniety is normal, and attempts to make media actually representative of the population at large is evidence of a nefarious "agenda." People who think this way are brainwashed by media, and have a distorted view of the world.
