The Taliban is bad, but so are Evangelicals, the American version of the Taliban.
It's important to recognize degrees, though. The American Taliban is not nearly as bad as the Taliban, but they are bad and they are constantly defying the law of the land in pushing for more and more religion-based law and privilege. But at least they aren't actively trying to execute homosexuals and apostates, etc. That's very bad, and I think most people would have to admit that that is worse.
Define these "Christian fundamentalist", and what makes them so bad.
Not accepting homosexuality is hardly comparable to the beheadings in orthodox Islam.

Islam teaches to kill those who won't convert. Any "peaceful" muslim who says otherwise is either lying or hasn't read their own holy book-- the Koran (or Quran, or however it's spelled). Or maybe they have read it but think Islam has "reformed" and no longer teaches that.
Otoh, the most a Christisn will do is warn you that you will go to Hell if you don't accept Christ or they might try to convince you in order to save you.
Under Sharia law, it's either convert or be beheaded. There is no comparison.
Islam is no religion of Peace. Perhaps many of today's muslims really do believe that and perhaps Islam truly has been reformed from what it once was but obviously the radicals still follow strict adherence to Sharia Law.
