Someone purporting to be a Canadian centrist, while admitting to being a Trump supporter and a member of a fringe right-wing conspiracy website is entirely germane to the conversation.

Why is there talk of Kyle Rittenhouse facing federal charges from the DoJ? Isn't such an action well outside of their authority?

Federal agencies sometimes like to make things up rather than follow rules, regulations, laws etc.

As example

There are regulations, legal opinion letters as well as case law determining what constitutes a type of flight.

The faa ntsb and federal prosecutors then argued they determined the type of flight based on the fuel on board the aircraft. They ignored the rules, regulations, FAA chief counsels opinion letters and the intended purpose of the flight. They then argued fuel carried was the determining factor. Nowhere in any of the legal documents is fuel onboard ever mentioned as a determining factor in the type of flight.

In another faa case before the ntsb, the faa is arguing the law and regulations do not matter the faa chief counsels opinion letters do not matter the facts do not matter. FAA Aviation Safety Inspector brad sipperley played on his computer and decided there is reason to go after an airmens certificate because????? Well in my opinion his reason is he is just an ignorant idiot who makes things up and should be fired but that is just my opinion of brad sipperley based on the things he has said and done.

In another case the faa ntsb and federal courts decided it is OK for a parts supplier ottosen propeller, to disassemble and modify a propeller with used and altered parts then sell it as NEW, and lie about it to the faa and ntsb in violation of faa regulations and the law. Screw the people who were injured , screw the rules, regulations and state and federal laws broken. We are feds, we can do what we want and you, must accept and submit to our whims seems to be their attitude.

Why is there talk of Kyle Rittenhouse facing federal charges from the DoJ? Isn't such an action well outside of their authority?

The verdict makes me more sad than angry. Reading some legal experts this week braced me for this; I'm in agreement with the ones who say this may be the right verdict legally, but not morally. And the additional B.S. about him having a long barreled weapon rather than short barreled excused the weapons charge... wacko

America's great sickness - racism mixed with gun culture worship.

I worry so much about the legal precedent set by this, going forward. But history shows fame fades and the ultra right moves on after they've used you up. There recently was a convention in Idaho for gunowners that got cancelled, after they found out George Zimmerman was to be a key speaker.

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/na...k55i-story.html

They said it very clearly: We don't agree with what George Zimmerman stands for.

So much for hero worship for these guys.

Tbh, I didn't think it was possible for someone to ever be tried for the same crime again if they were found 'not guilty' because that would seem to violate the Double Jeopardy clause but then some1 mentioned online that after the riots in LA from the Rodney King case that the federal government retried case in federal court and got a conviction.

It's refreshing to know that sometimes, just sometimes, the Justice System works, as it did here.

I repeat what I said before: those jurors should all get a medal for doing the right thing in the face of riots and the threat of being doxxed, harassed, and threatened.

I read the same articles talking about sickness.

Come on, they're being way too melodramatic about one case. Tell the people stuck under Taliban rule in Afghanistan how sick the US is, I bet they'd trade places in a heartbeat.

Tell all the refugee's at the borders how sick the place is. Or all the migrants.

Dude, he's a leftist who gets all of his "news" from the likes of CNN, MSNBC, and other similar left wing propaganda networks.Of course he's sad over the fact the innocent white kid was freed. Why engage with that bs? Oh yeah, and he comes from Canada lol. He has literally zero room to be calling our superior country or justice system "sick".

Hope springs eternal.

Keep hoping at least one of them has an ounce of sense. Unlike the lunatics running rampant in this asylum; those people make me sick!

I keep wishing they could do a Friday the 13th where Jason takes Canada, bur the truth is it would end up with Jason aimlessly wandering around the woods for 3 hours slashing at mooses.

You may find the families of the 2 men killed go down the OJ route and launch civil suits for wrongful death or something equivalent because the burden of proof is lower.

Yeah, Rittenhouse won a criminal trial, civil cases are a seperate thing.

The fact is you can sue for whatever you want, no real standards exist. Find a gullible enough jury (Or know how to bribe them, or otherwise game the system) and cha-ching.

Plus you won't have a shortage of greedy law firms queing up to get a big slice of pie when it comes to compensation payments.

If there's any consolation, Trudeau has lost the popular vote in the last two election.

So most people aren't on his side.

Depending on how greedy, more for them, much much less for the clients.

Heard about cases where the ambulance chasers got literally everything while their clients never saw a dime.
