You can gauge a shows quality by literally doing the opposite of whatever he's doing.

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
I had heard all sorts of things about this show before watching it. I wanted to see for myself, and I genuinely hoped I would enjoy it. But it's just... not very good imo. And that's me being kind. I liked the action scenes, sure (with one obvious exception), and the aesthetic of the world, art design and such, was at least faithful enough that I thought it looked reasonably good.
From a storytelling perspective, though? It's not very good. It's not very good at all. And as an adaptation? It's even worse. And sure, there will always be that chorus of "well you can't have it exactly like the source material". No. Irrelevant. They didn't even try. It absolutely stinks of yet another Hollywood "adaptation" where they just decided to do the bare minimum so they could tell the story they wanted to tell, regardless of whether it would work within that framework or not.
