Then mabey he's just to stupid to feel pain. I too agree that Freddy will do the most damage in the waking world and in the dream world.

Well since New Line Cinema's breakdown of the movie is vague, one can only assume. Perhaps Freddy is talking about hell since he was there first or maybe he got in Jason's mind somehow which seems outlandish but according to the latest reports thats the basis of the story. What I mean is that Freddy gets in Jasons mind and tries controling him, attempting to make Jason kill for him. One can only wait to see......
...............wink

True Jason is dead Backfire, but so is Freddy, do you consider him one too? Sad...if you are going to consider Jason "like a super powerful zombie" then you just ruined everyones image of zombies. Like I said before, he should still feel pain just like all the other DEAD horror kings do. For example, Freddy feels pain.

I don't understand why some people actually believe Jasons character makes sense, he constantly strays from the land of the unbelieveable, to the land of the completely ridiculous. Just so you know though, I don't believe Jason is the only one that does this, it is just that everyone finds the need to defend his character.

eek! WHAT???!! Ok...I think this movie will be great but a statement like that is beyond crazy. There are so many new and old horror movies out there I doubt this will surpass them all.....

i didnt mean jason IS a zombie. he is similar to one. he doesnt feel pain like zombies, he doesnt talk (much) like zombies. he is not a zombie by any means, but i just said that because thats why he doesnt feel pain.

True he might have some of the characteristics of a zombie, but he is not on so explain to me why? (why he doesn't feel pain). Give me on ligitimate reason. I doesn't make any sense to have a character like that becuase it sends a message that it is futile to even attempt to defeat him yet they do..... bewildering.

they never defeat him. they just delay him. and i dont feel the need to defend the character. there is no given reason why he doesnt feel pain. some horror creaters have the deceased feel pain. some dont. obviously jasons creator went by the 'the dead people dont feel pain' rule. which makes sense, because if you are dead you wont feel pain at all. you're body will basically be dead just animated. thats all the reason i need. it makes perfect sense to me

Then again this is one of those "matter of person opinion" topics.

I agree that it's pretty dumb, Jason not feeling pain. Sure, some dead creatures are like that, but Jason... well... I just think it would have made the movies more interesting if he felt pain, and still kept going. Or even if he just liked the pain for some reason. Like, if his parents beated him so he thought it was a gesture of love.. you know, because he is a retard.

I'm sorry man I just analize everything and I can be very critical too. I mean no offense though, so you know, I just feel a particular way about certain topics, like this one for example, and I'll defend my opinion till the end..

you can analyze without nitpicking. it makes more sense that a dead person not feel pain anyways. actually freddy seems to be the only dead being that does feel pain. so he's the minority here. not jason. jason not feeling pain makes sense and goes along with the main zombie and dead people rule. dead people wouldnt feel pain.

I agree with Jason's character being ridiculous now........the story of his character is:

Originally:

Pamela Voorhies watched her retarded son Jason drown in Crystal Lake........so she took revenge on camp councilors she blamed for his death.............but Jason had not actually drown. He found an abandoned shack in the woods (as seen on part 2) and lived there.....he grew from a boy to a man...........he had no concept of death, being a retard and all. He watched his mother being decapitated from the woods.........he took her decapitated head and sweater and built a shrine to her.............he then sought revenge on campers/councilors for her death..........the exact same way his mother did when she though Jason had died. He covers his face because he is ashamed of his grotesque appearance (first with a burlap bag, later a hockey mask).......

This story follows up untill part 4. Jason is mutilated by Tommy Jarvis at the end of the movie. He is now dead. Jason doesn't appear in part 5. At the beginning of part 6.........Tommy Jarvis is at Jason's grave......and it is struck by lightning. The lightning brings Jason back to life. He is now a zombie........the walking dead. He cannot be killed. Since he can't be killed......he is imprisoned at the bottom of Crystal lake via chain and rock by Tommy at the end of part 6. He is brought back in 7 when the girl (can't recall her name, maybe Tiffiny or something) is trying to bring her dad back from his watery grave.

The story is all fine up untill this point.........then they really **** it up with part 8.

New Story:

Jason died as a boy..........yet somehow tranformed into a man.......at the end of part 8 he reverts back to being a boy........but is somehow normal looking now, he's not disfigured like he was when he originally was thought to have drowned. The filmakers blatantly said that this movie doesn't follow the Friday mythology........they just wanted to make Jason a supernatural entity.......as if being a zombie wasn't good enough already.

part 9 is just ridiculous........it now appears that Jason was never a human being persay........that "Jason" was actually a spirit trapped inside of the Jason Voorhies.........this spirit is released and runs amuck jumping into different people...........he is looking for a female Voorhies to inhabit so he can be born again.............the two first time filmmakers actually give commentary on this dvd and explain that they just wanted to do something different........this movie has nothing to do with the original Friday mythology.

Jason X..........this movie REVERTS back to part 6-7 when Jason was a Zombie.........he is nolonger some supernatural entity........he's just a guy who was once alive but was brought back to life and is now an unkillable zombie.............since they can't kill him, the cryogenically freeze him.............he is thawed out in the future and "upgraded" by that stupid table/ants thing.............

----------------------------------------------------------------------

as to the actual topic of discussion...........Jason does feel pain......he just appears to have a high threshhold.............in every single Friday movie all the way up to Jason X, he gets injured in some fashion........he winces in pain when being shot or impaled.........he is even taken to the ground in one movie (maybe 2) when kicked in the sac..............he does feel pain...........he just doesn't die, he is already dead.
