Sure sound like sex trafficking and rape if the allegations are true and they very likely are. Hopefully this has a cascading effect and more and more victims come forward and this deplorable (and associates) ends up facing 50+ years in prison.
Your sources, which are also MSM btw, only say Romanian authorities haven't confirmed or denied that. Where did you see them saying the pizza box was unrelated?
From these, it appears the pizza boxes were likely still evidence. They just weren't the only pieces of evidence. This info was coming from Romanian media too, so it's not just your MSM boogeyman.
Then they backpeddled on their own story by saying the pizza boxes probably had nothing to do with why he was busted, he was already under surveillance, they KNEW he was in Romania before the pizza tweet.
Which makes them look bad for not properly vetting the story, but it also makes everyone else look bad who repeated the original Newsweek narrative.
Nothing conspiracy about it, this is exactly the kind of thing you'd nail anti-vaxers or stop the fixers or whatever for. It's shoddy journalism and bandwagoning because of the topic, and not the facts.

I'd recommend checking ONE out then. They have separate divisions for Muay Thai and Kickboxing. MT is done is 4oz MMA gloves which is neat. The only drawback is some refs are a little trigger happy breaking up the clinch. You can sweep and plum though, and they just signed a deal to have fights at Lumpinee.
Yeah, Pride was awesome. As for current orgs, Rizin has the best MMA rules. All strikes to the head allowed, regardless of opponent being upright or grounded. They allow elbows too, even 12-6. Japan always does MMA rules right.

They admit literally in the links you posted that they got the info about the social media posts from Romanian news outlets. The authorities needed to know he was at his actual house though, rather than just in the country. That's where the pizza box connection came from.
And, again, they didn't say the pizza boxes were unrelated. It's just that they mislabeled it a fact, when it was more just a possibility based on the info they had.
Additionally, issuing a correction is good journalism. We criticize anti-vaxers for not admitting when they're wrong. That isn't what happened here. The initial reporter is accepting full responsibility here.
