Dim Sum in chinese means "to point". They bring carts of all kinds of appetizers and food around and you point to what you want. Egg rolls, pot stickers, shrimp toast, steamed dumplings, all kinds of stuff. Then you get stuffed.

Dim sum is exactly that, I have some chinese frineds and we used to go to china town in soho for Dim Sum for breakfast or brunch.
