Off the list, I'd say Magneto. He can control metal and do most of the stuff that Professor X can do, such as astral projection and stuff. And also since the Phoenix isn't a mutant.

First of all, are we talking about the movies or the comics? in the movie X2 they only put magneto controlling metal thats why he canīt fly without metal.
In the comics Magneto is much more powerful, he can control metal, and magnetic/electromagnetic fields, both natural and artificial. And yes he can fly without metal, and yes he can sense the electromagnetic field of Earth.
trough magnetism you can "control" all the stuff that is diamagnetic (i donīt know the word in english i supose is this one) and the human body is diamagnetic, so he can fly and control others people bodies. He can also control the iron in our body, and do so much more (in comics i repeat).
He is the most powerful of the list, unless jean can control the Phoenix force completly, if she can, than she is the most powerful (but the post is about the most powerful mutant, and the Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity).
By the way magneto killed the Phoenix in the comics.

Xorn/ if there is a real Xorn, he has a starbrain and shut off an imperial guard, those fu*kers are tough as they come. I will always hope that Xorn is real and a friend of Magnetos. The guy needs some powerfull friends. Xorn may stand in for Magneto cause he can be killed and heal his death to life. A healer fighter is an increadable power. I wonder if even dark phoneix could extinguish xorns brain.

actually you donīt know that, he can have metal in some part of the clothes. The thing is forget magneto from the movie he is nothing compared to the real one.
i was forgetting franklin richards and nate grey, they are also mutants quite powerfuls, and when frankiln grow up and control all is power, he will become the most powerful mutant of all.
guys as much as i respect any other character named in the poll, i gotta say that phoenix is the most powerful mutant that ever existed in the marvel universe. I mean look at the evolution from going to a simple teenage girl to a wipe kicking ass dark phoenix, and having the most well known saga under her back and a strong lineage (rachel, cable, nate grey, madelyn pryor, the phoenix force...), i think no one can deny shes been one most the well known character after wolverine. Look at all the websites created all over the internet, look at peopleīs reaction at her latest death, i mean plain and simple jean is the most powerful mutant.
