How do you like the Genie?

If you have Internet Explorer, then go to the main page of the forum, and rub something 3 times and you'll get a suprise wink

Very good, I haven't seen that one for a while. Looks like they updated the Agent control to version2.0 at last.

You should try Robbie next, he's more in line with the SciFi nature of the forum. Actually, now I know it's out there I might get arty and try and build a R2 or 3PO agent.

Now THAT would fit the forum.

What broswer are you using Dim?
I think it will only work with IE 4+ also you need the agent stuff. But if you have Window ME, it has it built in.

I changed the character as RC suggested to Robby (the Robot).

You should wait at least 30 secs if you're on a modem. Heres what it looks like when its fully loaded:

To download the files manually visit this page:

msdn.microsoft.com/worksh...gentdl.asp

or download these files from Microsoft:

activex.microsoft.com/act...Sagent.exe

activex.microsoft.com/act.../Robby.exe

In theory, the files should automatically be downloaded by Internet Explorer.

The Agent will only work with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Does this actually work for anyone? (apart of RC and me)
Feedback please...

Actually Dim, I wouldn't worry too much. The first time I viewed him he popped up in about 20 seconds. Then I tried on my laptop and it took over 5 minutes.

You only have to download the files the first time and I guess it depends on how well you connection is performing and the server at Microsoft is doing as well.

I know it doesn't work in netscape, but then what does?laughing out loud I know that the originbal agent applet worked on IE3.0 as well, though who in their right mind is still using that??? (Actually some are, good grief!)

I'm sorry DD, but hes gone to Robo-Heaven.
He was becoming a nuisance.
