Lopez And Affleck Ordered To Reshoot 'Gigli'

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reshoot the ending of their new movie, Gigli, reports The Sun.

The couple, plus hundreds of production staff, are being hauled back into the studio over the festive season to knock up a different finale to thriller Gigli.

The film was all set to hit cinemas in the new year.
But when producer Martin Brest went along to test screenings to measure audience reactions in the US he realised the cheesy climax was too much for people to stomach.

Panic-stricken Brest, who also wrote and directed the picture, called an emergency production meeting and ordered all staff back on set in Los Angeles.

A source on the movie said: “There are a lot of very unhappy people around here at the moment — but when the boss says you gotta do these things you gotta do these things.

“Test audiences said the ending to the film sucks at the moment and at the end of the day it’s got to bring in their dollars at the box office.”

The movie is a romantic comedy. Affleck plays Larry Gigli, a lowly thug sent by the Mafia to kidnap a federal prosecutor’s younger brother.

But Gigli’s mob bosses do not think the blundering Larry is up to the job and send beautiful lesbian assasin Ricki, played by J-Lo, to help him out.

Larry falls for Ricki but realises he will never win her heart. In the end he starts feeling sorry for his kidnapped victim and vows to change his ways.

Even on the scale of Hollywood cheese that ending was branded a real ripe old stinker.
