There is Mistry in Sex
[Saturday, March 10th, 2001]Jimi Mistry, who played Tariq Khan in the Khan family in 'East is East', is set to play the main role in 'The Guru of Sex'. He will be joined with Heather Graham (Austin Powers 2) and Marisa Tomei (The Watcher). Empire reports :
Mistry will star as an Indian man called Ramu, who goes to America in search of success. Circumstances conspire so that he ends up becoming a sexual guru, who preaches that true enlightment can be achieved through sex. Heather Graham plays his girlfriend, whilst Marisa Tomei is the woman who helps him on the road to fame and fortune.
The story was based on a idea by Elizabeth director Shekhar Kapur, and written by Tracey Jackson. The film will be directed by Daisy Mayer, who previously made Woo and Party Girl. Jimi Mistry can currently be seen in David Kane's Born Romantic.
