Robbie Coltrane On Hagrids Future In 'Harry Potter'
[Monday, March 3rd, 2003]Time could be running out for Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, according to ThisIsLondon. Robbie Coltrane, who plays the character in the movies, has suggested that Hagrid may be killed off in the fifth book by JK Rowling.
"I know about what happens to Hagrid, which is something author JK Rowling told me from the beginning to help me prepare me for the part," he said. "There is a death in the fifth book of a central character. But I can't say more than that."
Rumors of his future reportedly began because Coltrane only signed up for only the first four films.
The fifth book in the series will be released in June this year (Pre-Order at Amazon.com) with the third movie The Prisoner of Azkaban hitting theaters June, 2004.
