'Harry Potter 5' Gets Newcomer Director
[Friday, November 19th, 2004]British director David Yates has signed on to direct the fifth in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, according to Variety.
Yates is considered an relative newcomers as is the writer they signed a few days ago, Michael Goldenberg, both are suprise choices. Yates had the idea of a film in which the student wizard navigates the hormonal cauldron, which gave him the advantage over other directors.
Production is expected to begin late 2005 with a summer 2007 release date planned.
