Fortissimo Films Take On 'Hula Girls'
[Tuesday, August 1st, 2006]Fortissimo Films are set to take on the Japanese movie Hula Girls, says Variety.
The feature, helmed by Lee Sang-Il, is based on the true story of a Japanese town in 1965 that decided to revive its declining fortunes by building a Hawaiian Village tourist attraction.
The local girls who took intensive lessons to become hula dancers became national heroines. The movie will be released September 23rd in Japan.
