Universal Pictures To Make 'Hurricane Season'
[Thursday, June 1st, 2006]Universal Pictures is to make a post-Hurricane Katrina drama called Hurricane Season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is based on the true story of the football team at East St. John High School, located just outside New Orleans. The team struggled with integrating displaced students from surrounding high school teams and tried to help rebuild their community following Katrina.
Martin, a former NBA agent-turned-filmmaker, read about the team and decided to turn their story into a documentary, which he worked on during the past five months.
