Ron Eldard Gets Lead Key To 'The House Of Sand'

Ron Eldard ("Black Hawk Down") has got the final lead role in DreamWorks's "The House of Sand and Fog," joining Jennifer Connelly and Ben Kingsley, reports Variety.

Eldard will portray a married sheriff's deputy who falls in love with a self-destructive alcoholic (Connelly). He takes on her obsessive quest to take back a house she once owned, one now inhabited by a retired Iranian colonel (Kingsley) who won it in a foreclosure auction.

Vadim Perelman will make his directorial debut on the pic, which he adapted from the novel by Andre Dubus III.
